PHILOSOPHY

I spend a lot of time thinking about thoughts. Here are some ideas that help me navigate my experience

E

  • All parties win, or all parties lose. This applies to our environment, business, relationships, etc.

Zero-sum games are fine and fun when contained, but when scaled to global social, economic, and political systems, they cause a sort of species-level suicide.

  • We seem to be seeking a magic program, potion, number, date, or time.

Numbers are very arbitrary and unsatisfying when obtained. This is why I feel numbers-driven people tend to be the most unfulfilled and miserable among us. There is something deeper that we seek.

    Good followers, bad leaders.

  • Of what you already have - relationships, food, shelter, support, love. EXISTENCE.

What is marketed as “abundance” in “New Age Spirituality” is, in fact, capitalism in disguise.

Luxury is fine, but in excess implies at least some exploitation.

  • If you want to consistently make good decisions for yourself and your community, you will need to avoid burning out.

  • A vanishing edge. We do not live long enough, are far too ignorant, and numerically insignificant to be considered masters of anything.

Greatness and virtuosity are achievable, and should be centered in PLAY.

  • If we do not practice what we preach daily, we will feel like impostors.

Speak less, do more. People see, they don’t listen.

  • It’s a consistent series of actions. It’s hard to even say that love is warm, because there is a coldness to it at times.

  • The quickest way is the least effective and causes the most turmoil. Most of the time pause is better than action

  • This is the only direction that we need.

If we are not finding joy in our daily lives, pause and rediscover.

  • The most beautiful and the darkest ones can grab our attention. Be careful to not chase butterflies off of a cliff.

  • Or you will be at the mercy of the waves. Do 4 things that are important to you daily, and leave space for life

  • Not a truth. We’ll never be completely free, nor do I think that’s what we really want. What we really want is to accept ourselves for who we are, and that feels like liberation.

Groups of people are systematically oppressed, which feels like being restrained.

  • The quality of our lives is directly connected to what we pay and don’t pay attention to. There is no other way to reprogram ourselves as human beings than by observing and modifying our own behaviors.

Due to our connection to spacetime, the attention we spend is gone forever.

    Money returns.

  • Sonder is the feeling of realizing that everyone is having an experience as vivid as your own.

We are all suffering in some way, when we accept this fact, being kind becomes easy

  • We wrongfully compare ourselves and others to images, but experience is far more dynamic than that.

You are not any image; you are dynamically moving through the fabric of spacetime, and there is no way to separate from it.

  • There is only one ‘end’; enjoy your journey, live well, and celebrate life often.
